From cleared bush to fields of maize, fruit trees, and goat pens — this is the record of what we've built at Kuhunda, and an open invitation to see it for yourself.
Kuhunda Farm began with raw, uncleared land and grew into a working farm producing maize, fruit, and timber trees, alongside goats and poultry raised on site. Every field here was cleared, prepared, and planted by hand, and every structure — from the goat housing to the game-wire fencing — was built by the people who work this ground.
What you'll find on this page is a real record of that work: the fields as they were cleared, the crops as they grew, and the animals raised alongside them.
Maize is Kuhunda's main field crop, grown across several cleared plots and tracked from planting to harvest. Fruit and timber trees are planted around the farm's edges and homestead.
Our maize fields are grown out across cleared plots, checked regularly through the growing season, and harvested by hand into sacks for storage and sale. The video shows the crop at full maturity, ready for harvest.
Goats are housed on purpose-built structures we constructed and secured ourselves, alongside free-ranging poultry and sheep.
Our goat herd is raised in dedicated housing built on the farm, with troughs for feeding and hay kept on hand. The herd includes breeding stock, and housing was reinforced with game wire to keep the animals secure.
We keep a male goat for breeding, and track pregnant does closely. Hay and trough feeding supplement grazing, keeping the herd well fed year-round.
Chickens roam the homestead alongside a small flock of sheep, rounding out Kuhunda's livestock.
